More Moments About Luke 19:28-48

Krista Williams

Is there a circumstance or person or situation in your life that has your emotions raging out of control today? Are you searching for an answer to a struggle that is producing turbulence in your life? Maybe you woke up longing for a little peace in a world where there seems to be no peace.

Imagine how the disciples must have felt during that last week in Jerusalem before the crucifixion and immediately after it!

Chaos. Confusion. Conflict. Churning emotions.

Just before His crucifixion, Jesus gave His disciples something valuable: His peace. He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

His peace is a legacy left for us. His peace is the inheritance left to us. His inheritance of peace is for us to use today and every day!

We don’t have to try to create our own internal peace. We don’t have to try to fake it or force it when we feel shaken. We can choose to activate His peace instead of fear. All we have to do is claim our inheritance by placing our focus on Jesus. His power. His purpose. His protection. His plan. His provision. His presence. When we do, He promises His peace to us. Not just any peace. Perfect peace.
