More Moments About Jeremiah 25

Ann Swindell

The disobedience of Israel doesn't only impact them — the nations around them will suffer because of their sin as well. (Jeremiah 25:29, 32)

When God's people do not obey Him, the ramifications impact the whole earth. We are called to "shine" like stars, "children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation" (Philippians 2:15). We are meant to be those who point to the goodness and glory of God in a world that is full of darkness. When we refuse to obey God and go our own way, not only do we lose out on His blessings, but everyone around us loses out on the opportunity to be blessed by God as well, because we are His ambassadors of the gospel.

Our actions and our choices don't just impact us. As the nations around Israel learned, when the people of God are disobedient, everyone suffers. Let us be those whose lives bless rather than curse the souls around us.

Major Moment: Judah has refused to repent after many years of Jeremiah's prophecy. The nations around Judah will also drink the cup of God's wrath.
